Is Skolbuzz really free?

Yes — completely free for schools, parents, and drivers. No per-bus fees, no per-parent fees, no premium tier you secretly need.

Do our buses need special GPS hardware installed?

No. The driver's own phone does the tracking — it shares the bus position every few seconds while a trip is running. There's nothing to buy, install, or maintain in the vehicle.

How do parents get started?

The school adds each family's phone number when setting up routes. Parents then just install the app and sign in with a one-time code sent by SMS — their child's bus is already on screen. No forms, no codes to type, no passwords to remember.

Which phones does it work on?

Android and iPhone. We roll out with partner schools, who share the download links with their parents during onboarding.

What about my child's privacy?

The bus's live location is shared only from the driver's phone, only during a trip, and is deleted the moment the trip ends — no location history is ever kept. Read exactly what we collect and why in our privacy policy.

What if the driver's phone loses signal?

The map stays honest. If updates stop for 90 seconds, Skolbuzz stops showing the bus as live instead of guessing — and nudges the driver's phone to resume tracking.

What does the school office get?

One live dashboard for every bus and route, absence handling, substitute-driver and replacement-bus notices that reach parents automatically, one-tap announcements to a whole route, and trip history.

How long does it take a school to go live?
